About Me
Playing the piano and making music has always been an important part of my life. I have loved all the “music hats” I’ve worn throughout the years: student, teacher, accompanist, jazz combo player, live event musician, and church musician.
But my absolute favorite thing is teaching! I can’t imagine my life without teaching. Teaching music is my passion.
I love guiding each person to find their inner musician… whatever level that might be.
Education
I began lessons at age 8 and completed my studies when I received a Bachelor of Music Piano Performance degree from Central Washington University.
After university, I completed the certification for both Music Teacher's National Association and Washington State Music Teacher's Association.
In 2012, I became a registered Music Together® teacher. I teach Babies only, Mixed-Age classes and Rhythm Kids® classes.
Experience
I began teaching lessons at 11 years old and continued teaching until I graduated college. I have taught ages 4 through 82 (yes seriously!).
When I returned to Wenatchee, I taught in my home studio as well as group lessons at Valley Academy for over 10 years.
I have played for many choirs, churches, musicals and live events throughout the years.
Etcetera
I am a wife and a mom. My son is an amazing clarinetist at Cashmere High School and my daughter plays the piano and trombone beautifully.
I love to read and bake. I love to laugh and to be silly. I never want to stop learning and am excited about all things related to early childhood music education and becoming a better teacher.
On the piano, my favorite thing is improvising, creating and arranging music.

Final thoughts about my teaching style...
Natural curiosity causes learning to become an adventure, not a chore. When students can relax at the piano, they can reach their potential and have fun with music!
Knowing the needs and wishes of the 21st century student is a high priority for me. Piano lessons in this studio are specifically designed with that in mind.
Engaging activities, humor, creativity, up-to-date music and current teaching styles are at the core. Definitely not your traditional piano lessons of long ago.
